Join us for Recovery Advocacy Day (RAD) in Olympia and tell your legislators why policy making that centers and supports recovery is vital.
You’ll spend the morning with other mental health and addiction recovery advocates from across Washington to learn about sharing your story with elected officials, how to participate in a legislative advocacy meeting, and which pro-recovery policies we are uniting to support this session. You will be paired up with other constituents from your district, and then we’ll head to the capitol campus to meet with elected officials and put our advocacy skills to use!
Recovery Advocacy Day (RAD) is hosted by the Washington Recovery Alliance each February, and they make all of the arrangements so you don’t have to. A light breakfast and lunch are provided, and the WRA staff coordinates legislator appointments. The sooner you register, the better chance they have of getting appointments with your specific legislators. Last year, we had almost 400 advocates show up for recovery. That’s people power!
Want to sharpen your advocacy skills before RAD? There are two virtual Elevate Recovery Advocacy trainings coming up on January 10th and 23rd, in addition to our 2-hour mini-Elevate on January 21st. Sign up here.
